Terry Pratchett: A Life with Footnotes by Rob Wilkins—The long awaited biography of fantasy author Terry Pratchett, written by his PA and close friend of several decades, Rob Wilkins. This is a captivating and in-depth account of Pratchett’s early life, family, (often reluctant) schooling, career before books, career during books, and many achievements over a lifetime of writing, imagining, and contributing an entire body of work to modern literature.
Wilkins relays all the well-known events of Pratchett’s life with the same gravity, humour, and detail as he does the smaller, everyday moments of their time spent together, such as their methods for going through the mountains of fan mail received every week, and spending days in the old shepherd’s hut that Terry had restored and put on his land, where they could work for hours undisturbed.
Ultimately, this book is a very thorough account of Terry Pratchett’s life, works, and personality, from someone who knew him very well and for many years. Perfect for fans of Pratchett’s work and author biographies in general, this book released on the 5th of October from Penguin Australia.
Full review out on the AU Review soon.

Heartbreak High (2022-)—Want to imbibe an irresponsible amount of teen-centred drama over just eight hormone-fueled episodes? Want to experience that drama from a gaggle of Australian adolescents who swear up a storm and wear clothes that look like an op shop exploded in 1995?
Heartbreak High will do it for ya!
I did not intentionally set out to binge this show, but someone in my house put it on and several hours later I was ordering tattoo chokers online and thinking I missed high school.
This show is sort of like Sex Education, but with drugs and set in Sydney. Or like Gossip Girl, but with 400% less glamour.
And when I say Gossip Girl I mean the original TV show from the early 2000s, not the re-make, which I have not yet watched. And for even more clarity: I’m writing this about the recently released Heartbreak High, not the 90s show, of which this is a remake.
Maybe that explains the eye-watering 90s fashion in this version.
Explains it, but doesn’t excuse it.

Recently I saw this comic on a friend’s Instagram stories:
In the spirit of relating super hard to this, here are the playlists that I have most recently listened to:
I can’t wait to add ‘Songs that make you feel like a villain’ to this list.
And another thing…
